Making Display Cabinets Part 2: Andrew Pitts~FurnitureMaker

In this second video of a series on making two similar display cabinets using red oak wood from my client’s own tree, Andy makes the frame and panel backs of the cabinets. Techniques include bandsawing, jointing, and planing to square up the stock, using the router table and shaper to cut tongue and groove joints on the frames and panels, tenoning with the table saw tenoning jig, using the Domino machine to cut floating mortise and tenon joints, using the radial arm saw and SawStop table saw to mill and trim stock and joints, and finishing the pieces with shellac polish prior to glue up.

These woodworking videos show how Andrew Pitts makes his fine custom furniture in his woodworking workshop in Virginia. He also often demonstrates new uses for his ShopBot Desktop CNC routing machine, and has included other useful videos such as how to photograph furniture.
