How to Paint Over Varnished Wood Trim (Part 1)

In these videos, I show you how to prepare and paint over previously stained and Varnished wood trim. I first sand the varnished surface, and then use a liquid deglosser (Wilbond) to clean the surface. I then prime the surface two times with a waterborne bonding primer called STIX. I caulk all the gaps with in the trim using Dap Alex Plus Acrylic latex caulk plus silicone. I then paint the surface with 2 coats of Benjamin Moore Regal Select Pearl finish paint. I am using a 2 1/2 inch Corona Excalibur Chinex bristle paint brush.
