Part 3 in my series on my visit to the Frontier Culture Museum in Staunton, Virginia. On this leg of the journey I stop by the Irish forge, complete with a coal fired forge with a working blacksmith showing and discussing period appropriate blacksmithing techniques. After the forge we journey over to the Irish farm complete with a working loom (I apologize for the long segment on the loom, I just really like hand powered machines).
This video is intended to be a resource to share with my students, and help to educate anyone else who watches. I would also love to take my students on a field trip here, but doubt it will happen due to the distance from our school. I know this is not my usual science content, but I will return to that shortly.
