How to apply a faux finish glaze for a soft Tuscan feel. This is a tricky technique using a fast-dry glaze, paint or tinted topcoat. The benefits of using a “no-open time” glaze, is the durability and scrub-ability once cured. Open time glazes are much weaker when cured. In this technique I am using water to slip coat the surface, and allow my glaze to blend out. Blending back-in with a soft touch allows the glaze to merge with the previous area without lifting or creating lap-lines. When the technique is done it is completely dry in about an hour, and you can add a second color without damaging the first layer.
