In this episode, I build what I’m calling the ultimate shop stool. It’s unique design and industrial feel blends well in the shop. It folds into positions on both sides of my work table and folds out of the way when not in use. This would be a great addition in a kitchen as a space saving bar stool. The American Bison leather top is extremely durable and super comfortable.
Where I get my leather:
What I’m using for materials:
3/16″ metal plate (measures 10″ at the hinge, 4.5″ at the seat and 27″ overall). Holes are 2.5″ at the seat, progressing to 4.5″ at the hinge.
1/2 Sch.80 pipe (top and bottom of plate)
1″ tube (Seat tube and hinge tube)
7/8″ solid rod (hinge and seat rod)
3/4″ CDX Plywood for the seat. 14″ diameter.
2.5″ x 3/16″ flat bar for the hinge bracket.
The hole cutouts from the plate are incorporated into the seat post and hinge pin.
