This upcoming week we will hit 30,000 subscribers. As a way of saying thank you so much to all of you for helping this happen, we are having a give-away.
We will be giving away one of our favorite things to build. A Thor’s Hammer Woodworking Mallet! Since I first designed it last December (loosely based on Thor’s Hammer), it was become enormously popular. And we thought it would be perfect for this.
We haven’t decided on what species of wood for the Mallet head or handle yet, but it will be a beautiful combination. If you have thoughts or suggestions please leave them in the comments below.
We wouldn’t be here without your support, and I want to thank all of our subscribers, and especially all of you who buy through our amazon links in the descriptions in the videos, and especially our Patreon members.
The giveaway will go like this:
You can earn up to 3 entries.

3) Like us on Instagram
By doing all 3 you maximize your chance of winning.

NEXT… Tomorrow I will be holding a LIVE online lecture:

All about Exotic Wood Species:
I will be discussing the pros and cons of various exotic species. Including, cocobolo, lignum vitae, ebony, African blackwood, padauk, purple heart, and many many more. I will show samples live on air, both raw boards and finished pieces. I will also talk safety regarding exotics, what is toxic and hazardous along with what precautions should be taken.
I will discuss in depth the trees of the rosewood family and just what makes them so beautiful & unique.
Topics covered will be tree range, hardness, density, traditional uses, local uses, and uses by the woodworker.
I will cover where to buy them, how much they cost, and what they are best used for.
Detailed discussion on how best to do woodworking with them, from initial milling, to cutting, jointing, planing, and assembly. Also I will discuss how to join the exotics from best joinery methods to adhesives needed and surface preparation.
Finally I will discuss how to finish them, covering everything from sanding & surface prep to the type of products that work best and last the longest. I will also talk about how to bring out the color for maximum beauty and how to keep it for as long as possible.
